The state's Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paul Ohonbamu, made this statement during an appearance on Channels Television's Morning Brief on Monday.

According to Ohonbamu, Obi poses no threat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, asserting that the former Anambra State Governor lacks a clear and actionable plan for governance. He described Obi's political agenda as vague, with no defined vision for the country's future.

"Peter Obi is the least of our worries. APC can't be threatened by Peter Obi. Ask him what he will do when he becomes president, and he will simply say, 'Let me get there first.' There is no concrete blueprint of what he wants to achieve," said Ohonbamu. The commissioner's remarks came as he dismissed Obi's political stance as lacking substance and clarity.

Edo State Dismisses Obi's Regional Influence In his comments, Ohonbamu also addressed Obi's political dominance in the South East of Nigeria, a region traditionally seen as a stronghold for the Labour Party. However, he pointed out that Obi's Labour Party controls just one state, Abia, while the APC holds power in Imo and Ebonyi. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) governs Enugu, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) controls Anambra.

"Where is his dominance?" Ohonbamu questioned, dismissing the claim that Obi has significant political sway in the region. He further dismissed Obi's influence as "struggling in error" and expressed confidence in the APC's electoral prospects. "I can assure you, his defeat is a fixed deposit," he said, implying that the Labour Party leader would face certain defeat in the upcoming elections.
